The San Francisco Historical Society’s fourth online presentation for Black History Month is a live talk presented by Jesse Warr and Len Holmes. Mr. Warr is a member of the San Francisco Tour Guide Guild, and Mr. Holmes is the Guild’s President. This lecture examines the role of African Americans in the first century of California history, from “New Spain” to the 1850 Compromise to the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition.
